Privacy policy
Effective 7 July 2026
OnNext is a TV show and movie tracker. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and what happens to it. It is short because we collect very little.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, a name and an optional display name, plus a securely hashed password.
- Watch data: the shows and films you follow and the episodes and films you mark as watched, stored as references to TMDB entries.
- Comments: anything you post on an episode or film, shown to other users alongside your display name.
- Push token: if you enable episode alerts, a device token used solely to deliver those notifications.
What we do not do
- No adverts and no advertising identifiers
- No analytics or tracking SDKs in the app
- No selling or sharing of your data for marketing
Where your data lives
Your data is stored on Cloudflare infrastructure. A small number of service providers process data on our behalf:
- Cloudflare hosts the OnNext service and database.
- Expo and Firebase Cloud Messaging deliver push notifications to your device if you enable episode alerts.
- Resend sends password reset emails. That is the only email OnNext sends to users.
- TMDB provides show and film metadata. Requests to TMDB are made by our server and do not include your identity.
Comments and moderation
Comments are visible to other users. Comments reported by multiple people are hidden automatically, and we may remove content or accounts that abuse the service. You can report any comment and block any user in the app.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account from Settings inside the app at any time. Deletion is immediate and removes your account, watch data, comments and push tokens. There is no grace period and no backup copy kept beyond routine, short-lived infrastructure backups.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or erase your personal data. Most of this you can do directly in the app; for anything else, email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the effective date above changes with it and significant changes will be flagged in the app.
